Dennis O’Neill and Tai Powell to Lead Cast of 1265 Films’ Upcoming Series Frank, Filming in Texas Fall 2026

1265 Films has officially announced that Dennis O’Neill (Frank Harper) and Tai Powell (Police Chief Kimberly Ridley) will headline its highly anticipated television series Frank, set to begin filming in Texas in Fall 2026. The series marks the first official spin-off of the internationally acclaimed Surviving The Cartel, distributed globally by AMC Networks.

O’Neill and Powell, both seasoned performers and long-time collaborators with series creator and showrunner Ely Bams, will serve as the face of the series. Actor Jordan Nancarrow will reprise his key supporting role as Kyle Chapman, continuing the character's journey in this new chapter.

Joining the production team as Executive Producers are Ike Bams, Amber Redbear, and Tai Powell, underscoring the project’s strong creative leadership and vision. Notably, Frank will also see Amber Redbear stepping into the director’s chair for the first time, alongside Yaa Boaa Aning, with each directing one episode of the series.

The announcement comes at a meaningful milestone: the 10th anniversary of La Pantera, the short film that first brought O’Neill, Powell, and Bams together in 2015. Their continued partnership reflects a decade-long creative synergy that has shaped some of 1265 Films’ most ambitious storytelling.

Frank is a gripping procedural drama that delves into the high-stakes world of criminal investigations while exploring the complex personal and financial struggles of its central characters—Frank Harper and Chief Kimberly Ridley—members of the El Paso Police Department. With its compelling narrative and dynamic cast, the series promises to bring a fresh and human perspective to the genre.

Filming is scheduled to commence in Fall 2026 across locations in Texas, with an expected release in Spring 2027.
